Based in Brisbane, Australia, Stefan operates out of Red Brick Studios, which houses one of the countries largest drive in cyclorama studios. Stefan is an associate member of the AIPP and founding member of the ACMP.

Our 25 years of industry experience is backed by a team of committed full time staff and specialist hi-end equipment and our studio features one of the largest full-cove cycloramas in the country. I couldn’t get away from photography if I tried… my father was a commercial/advertising photographer, my mother spent her entire working life as a photographic retoucher, my sister is a portrait photographer and I’m married to a press photographer!

I have always worked for a diverse range of advertising, commercial and editorial clients over the years so have a lot of experience across a broad range of industries. My specialties however have remained in architecture, interiors, property development, heavy industry and aerial photography - from both helicopters and heavy-lift drones.

I honed my lighting and compositional skills in the studio shooting everything from jewellery to people, large furniture sets and cars - the latter probably being one of the most technically challenging products of all … not being one to shy away from a challenge, I built one of of the largest full cove cyclorama’s in the country … you could drive a Mack truck into it!

In recent years however I found my work was increasingly taking me out of the studio so I decided to have a change of direction and concentrate on location assignments. Those many years spent in the studio agonising over subtle lighting details certainly weren’t wasted though and have given me invaluable experience as a location photographer - I can very quickly assess a lighting situation and tame it where necessary - well, often with the help of a very large van load of gear and a few assistants…
